COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT

Sunny Horizons Therapies embodies the belief for client-centered care. A dedicated treatment team will be assigned to the client and their family to assist with decreasing problematic behaviors and increasing skill development through the creation of individualized treatment plans. The core of this ideal is to aid the client and those who care for them to a brighter future with a long-lasting improvement in quality of life. ABA services can be provided in any setting in which the client struggles: in the home, in the community, and in the school. Through this process, Sunny Horizons will consistently provide families with the support they need. This includes individualized parent training, involvement in therapy sessions, and easy-to-understand explanations of the progress the client is making.

early intervention

Sunny Horizons’ Early Intervention is a clinic-based program is intended for kids starting at 18 months up to their enrollment in kindergarten. While present, clients will have individualized 1-to-1 attention from staff while also being a part of a larger group. A structure designed to get kids ready for school is used to teach clients how to participate in group activities, engage in appropriate play with peers, respond to their name, engage in eye contact and so much more! A child’s first few years of life are the most crucial for them to learn pre-academic and basic social skills that will set them up for future success. Though participating in a group, each child will still have the 1-to-1 attention they deserve. Along with general group goals and lesson plans, each child will have an individualized set of goals tailored to meet their needs.

social skills groups

While individual 1-to-1 services in the home and community are the foundation of successful treatment, we also believe that it is crucial for the individuals we work with to experience play with peers their age in a safe environment. Sunny Horizons Therapies offers a program in which clients can be assessed specifically on their abilities to hold conversations, take turns, share, engage in age-appropriate play, and more! They are then sorted into group with similar-aged peers based on their skill set. Though participating in a group, each child will still have the 1-to-1 attention they deserve. Along with general group goals and lesson plans, each child will have an individualized set of social goals tailored to meet their needs.

parent training

Parents and caregivers are the foundation of every home. With this, comes great responsibility. It’s easy to get overwhelmed when one is juggling work, home, therapies, and family all at once. At Sunny Horizons, we want our parents and caregivers to know that we stand with them. Parent Training Meetings are offered out of our office at no additional cost for our clients. These trainings focus on general concepts and are meant to be a sounding board for parents to learn more about the guiding science that is used with their children.
